Long Beach Sprints 2011

Posted: February 21, 2011 in News, Race/Results

On January 29, Chapman Men’s Crew competed in the Long Beach Sprints: a 2000 meter race on an indoor rowing machine (ergometer). Unlike previous years in which our presence was limited, this year our team was able to compete in force, making this a true representation of the progress we made over interterm practice. Out of 6 rowers who competed, 5 received medals in their respective divisions.

It was nice to meet Chiara, Michael and Chandler at the
Rowing Center this morning. Congrats on making your
presence known at the Beach Sprints and the Christmas
Regatta. FYI, the Christmas Regatta was first staged in 1968 when the Long Beach R.A. and Cal State LB wanted to use the Pocock small boats purchased for the 1968
Olympic Trials. I was Club Treasurer and a lightweight sculler st the time.
